2020.10.24 18:50 po_ltd [WTS][EU-BG][H] Headphones, IEMs, AMPs, DACs, Cables and more (low-, mid-, high-tier) [W] Paypal, Bank Transfer

This is a repost with some price adjustments and new things added. Most of the stuff below is already packed and ready to go, hence the older timestamps, but can make an up-to-date one for any of the products prior purchasing.
Hello everyone!
New to Reddit, but have sold a lot of audio-stuff in (under the same username) with a decent seller feedback. Decided to advertise my listings here as well, cause I don't live in the UK any more and generally prefer to get paid in Euro.
Currently for sale are the following things separated into different sections:
Headphones, IEMs (Timestamp)
AMPs, DACs, AMP+DAC (Timestamp 1, Timestamp 2)
DAPs (Timestamp)
Cables and Others (Timestamp)
More info about each item, as well as high-res photos, can be found in the corresponding eBay listings (linked above). Prices are net to me, meaning shipping and Paypal fees are paid by the buyer. Accepting both Paypal and Direct Bank Transfer as payment method (nothing else). Shipping to EU countries only (it's extremely expensive to ship anywhere else, but if you don't mind that, let me know).
Any questions, feel free to ask! Thanks for looking!

2020.10.24 18:40 alfadog77 Had a date last night but she wasn't feeling a connection

Been recovering from a previous breakup so im a little rusty with this dating stuff but im slowly coming back.
I went on a date with a girl last night through hinge. We met up at a bar and we talked for 3 hours non stop. We both talked our lives, friends ,family, hobbies, etc and I thought the date was going really well. After the date was over I texted her a few hours later asking her I wanna see her next week and asked her when she was free. She replied saying that I was a cool guy but she wasn't feeling a connection.
I'm not upset I'm glad for the experience but I'm not sure where I went wrong. Throughout the date I made sure she talked more but the way the conversation was going we both were just talking back and forth. I really couldn't get flirty because we were sitting across a table from each other. I noticed her eye contact wasnt really that good with me while she was talking but I didn't really think about it during the date. I didn't hide who I was I was just being myself.
Im not really sure where my sticking point is. I'm good with conversations and getting the other person comfortable but I'm defintely missing a few key skills.

2020.10.24 18:37 Mysterious_Green I (21M) am afraid my girlfriend (19f) may have cheated on me

I've been dating this girl for about 4 months now and am afraid of what happened last night. She went out with a male friend who just turned 18, I was originally going to go with them but was told they decided they're going to get a train over instead of me giving them a ride. I had already agreed to be their designated driver so I still picked themup and gave them a ride home afterwards. I expressed my concern about why he wanted to spend his 18th bday alone with just her but she assured me nothing was wrong and that he was already in his own relationship.
I asked her to let me know if they left the bar for any reason so that I could know she's safe, she didn't and I only found out about what they did when I was giving them a ride home while they were drunk. I found out that they went to a burlesque show and that my gf even flashed her tits so they could get free drinks. They also tried to go get tattoos but couldn't find anywhere that was open. My gf and I haven't been sexually active in the past 2 months of the relationship since she told me she doesn't have much of a sex drive since starting her new job and being busy with her classes. I have never stayed over at her house since she specifically told me that due to a past relationship her parents doesn't allow her to have boys over. When I got to her place to drop her off she decided to tell me that he was staying the night there with her. I expressed my concern about this telling her how uncomfortable this was for me but she insisted since he lived in the south side of the city. Even though I live a town over and exit through the south side...
I asked her to text me in the morning so we could talk about this, I didn't get any sleep last night panicking over this and I just saw that she opened my msg about talking 2 hours ago and never responded. I've never been in a relationship before and my gf struggles with a lot of mental health problems, I'm just not sure how I should continue because I really like her but I'm afraid I'm just overthinking everything and will ruin the relationship even if nothing happened.

2020.10.24 18:36 koiwacandy Building Packages in Bulk

tl;dr - I have the "packages" and "community" source repositories checked out and would like to do bulk builds to create my own binary package repository. What tooling is available to do this?
I'm very familiar with makepkg, but this only works for one package at a time. It also relies on the Arch repo to pull in dependencies in binary form. I'm looking to do a totally independent repo like ArchLinux32, ArchLinux-ARM, Manjaro, etc. All of these projects create pacman packages and regularly keep the repos up to date, so there's gotta be some tooling for this purpose. If anyone is familiar with "poudriere" in FreeBSD, I'm basically looking for the Arch equivalent to that.

2020.10.24 18:31 j-webby Saatva Latex Hybrid

After narrowing it down to the Avacado, Eco terra, and a few more I decided to give the Saatva Latex Hybrid a shot.
Value wise latex mattresses and latex hybrids seem to be on the pricer side though there are more economy brands out there. Price range for the Latex Hybrids that I looked at seem to ranged from $1000 to around $2000.
The price can be compared to Avacados mattress. The mattress alone right now is 1599, with the foundation and metal frame it comes out to $2027. What's also included with Saatva is Free white glove delivery. With white glove delivery they will deliver and set up the new mattress for you, as well as dispose of your old mattress for you (if you want)
Materials Organic Talalay latex, Organic Cotton and Organic wool
Certifications Oeko-tex, GOTS
Return Policy There is a 180 day trial period where you can return the mattress. If you choose to return the mattress during the trial period they charge $99 and will send the white glove delivery team to take it back.
Just received my Saatva Latex Hybrid. The white glove delivery was very efficient. The delivery crew arrived and had the mattress set up where I wanted it and disposed of my old mattress within 10-15 minutes. (Second floor of the house)
Unrelated side note, the white glove delivery was really appealing to me because I currently have a herniated disc.
First impressions with the mattress I'm currently very happy with my purchase, it's much more comfortable than my old mattress and provides good back support.
In my opinion it's comfortable enough to sleep on in any position, back, side, or stomach.
The only thing I had an issue with was that some of the materials were on backorder and there was nothing disclaiming that the item wasn't essentially in stock.
Customer service with both Saatva and the delivery company was very good though. Both companies are very easy to get in touch with if needed. I had contacted Saatva when I was curious when the delivery was going to be when the ETA date was approaching. They informed me of the back order and contacted me when they determined a new ETA.
The latex foam seems to be on back order right now, I was told that only one company makes it. My delivery missed it's scheduled delivery date by 14 days. From what I've seen on reddit Saatva isn't the only company having issues though from what, Avacado seems to be having issues as well. Due to covid a lot of industrial companies that make mattress materials like coils, and what not have converted their manufacturing lines to make medical equipment, and P.P.E.
If any interest I'll follow up with another review after being able spends some time on the mattress.

2020.10.24 18:25 CircadianWrites Surov's wild ride into the apocalypse broke me...

This game.
This fucking game.
And I do mean game, not mod. I don't play HOIIV, I play TNO. This game broke me. I got through Funni Clock Man with most of my sanity this side of midnight. But this Surov run...
It wasn't even anything I did. I just wanted to play Funni NazBol man and the playthrough was enjoyable enough, with just the right touch of "let's unite the proletariat of Russia" mixed with "And kill all the subhuman scum!" to keep me from getting too complacent. The economic bonuses were pretty dope though.
It all started just after I reunified Western Russia. I just got done snaking around enemy lines with my 3 inf trash divisions, Bormann was vöring the last bits of Goering, everything as you would expect.
Then I got a message.
The Italian Empire has joined the Organization of Free Nations.
Wait, what?
Yes, in the grand old Italian tradition they once again switched sides. Now with the benefit of hindsight this was of course a monumental shift in global politics, sure to herald great and terrible change, but I was busy readying my shovel to cave Yazov's face in so I just ignored it. The game went on with nothing much of note happening, I was doing my focuses, building my legions of 7/2's, all good so far. That all changed when The Event happened. I was just starting my conquest of Omsk, having declared on them as they tried to conquer the Southern Urals. Then for some reason my game froze.
Huh. German civil war was long over by this point. Is Mittelafrika exploding? No wait wrong mod, It's Huttig's burgsys hellscape here. Nope, not it either.
Then The Event Popped up.
The großgermanisches Reich has declared war on the Italian Empire.
World War Three had begun.
No. Noooo, this can't be happening right now. I just got done with several hours of warlord slog. It can't just disappear in a blaze of nuclear fire. I didn't even see a single shrimp boat! COME ON, FUCKING G*RMS. FUCKING PASTA SNIFFERS! MY TIME IS VALUABLE! YOUR LIVES AREN'T! JUST YOU WAIT, IMMA GO FULL ON S7VEN GREED DEATH ON YOUR MEDITERRANEAN ASSES. AND YOU BORMANN, I'LL MAKE YOU MY PERSONAL SECRETARY! Ok, calm, we can work this out. What do you guys need to stop fighting? Guns, I got guns. Food, cars, computers? Just let me know and I'll get it for you. This is just unfair, not even the shrimp meme? Stupid game. Welp, guess it's back to election day in Komi. AGAIN. Fine, you know what, I've never seen the nuclear war super event. This will be a new experience. And now I know Italy can join the OFN. That's nice I guess.
So I just kept playing. Capitulated Omsk pretty quick since they had almost no divisions. Southern Urals, check. Got that squared away before we all die, I guess. But then the strangest thing happened. Nothing. The war war was going on, I could see that. But no nukes. So I kept going through my focus tree, balancing the left and right factions of my ideological abomination and keeping an eye on the war. Late 1969 the Italian Empire was on the brink of collapse and I thought "Aha, here we go. Italy capitulates, then the nukes start flying."
Italy capitulated. No nukes.
It was then that I was struck down by that most horrible of human afflictions. They say that there is no hope under the Black Sun. This is true, I've seen it during my Taboritsky playthrough. There is, however, a sense of calm that comes with having no hope. This is it, you've reached rock bottom. But as long as you have hope, you always have further down to fall.
So I hoped that maybe I could finish this game after all. Even as the remnants of the Italian Empire entrenched themselves in Africa I kept hoping. When the Balkans fell to the Germans I kept on hoping. As the USA capitulated Reichskommissariat Niederlande for the hundredth time, over a million of their dead covering the beaches, I kept hoping.
Here we go. 1 january 1971. I can do this. My armies are ready. All super divisions of the most elite infantry carrying the most up-to-date weapons I could get. Armor divisions with almost a thousand soft attack. My final enemy: the Siberian Free Territory. Seems oddly poetic: NazBols vs. Anarchists. Declaration of war. Armor divisions surge forward, barely noticing the feeble attempts to stop them. The blood of anarch filth will dye the lands of Siberia a deep crimson. Forward for Ordosocialism. Capital captured, capitulation close. So close. 80 percent towards capitulation. 90.
Hope is a funny thing. As long as you have hope, you always have further down to fall. It didn't register at first, the event that popped up. Some strange mushroom cloud. Hey, maybe it's friendly. But wait, shouldn't Burgundy already have nukes? Getting slow there, Himmy-chan. Maybe this is one of tho-
Italy. It was Italy. Italy got nukes.
I clicked the event away and for the third time my game froze. But this time I knew. I knew what was in store for me. Except I didn't. I did not.
A message to anyone reading this that hasn't yet seen the thermonuclear war super event: Don't look it up. Let it happen.
I can honestly say this was one of the most profound moments I've ever experienced in gaming. The sounds when you see that pop-up. Watching the whole world go dark, one province at a time. Almost there... I was almost there. I HAD IT. I HAD VICTORY IN. MY. HAND. But now it's all gone. Staring at the blank map for a while I was just about to close the game when i got an event. Then another one. And another. Each better written than the last. I made a special save, so I can come back here, watch the empty world and read the events. I'm taking a break from TNO for a while, let this sink in for a bit. Old World Blues just got updated.
One last thing to be done:
Load game
Save 5
Annex KHA
Re-Unify the Motherland.
The Triumph of Ordosocialism indeed...

2020.10.24 18:17 BustCupped 23 [F4M] Horny + Bored on Saturday =

Good morning and happy Saturday! I've officially been screened Covid free after my flight from Texas so let's start this on a positive note lol and I hope this post contributes to your excitement for tonight. I've been feeling it since last night tbh 😂
Buuuut as corny as it sounds, early bird is supposed to be the one who gets the worm (or in this situation, a fitting tongue/cock 😅) so let's get onto more specifics!
I'm looking specifically for a NSA arrangement. I am single but would rather rule out the idea of dating just in case that's what some are looking for on here lol
I'm located in San Fran and can host but don't mind commuting either! So the where is already taken care of lol just need to figure out the when! My schedule is pretty open at the moment so that's more on whoever I end up talking to/meeting..
I guess I'd be considered more of a "sub" but I don't really have much experience in that field honestly haha but I'm open to experiments 🤷🏻‍♀️
Hope to hear from you soon! Xo

2020.10.24 18:17 sibesky Junos releases and "Can I upgrade directly from X to Y?"

Junos software release numbering can be very confusing even if you are very seasoned with the platforms. After switching from Cisco I've been working primarily on Juniper kit for eight years and these are some of the things I've learned.

What does the release name mean?

For the last few years Juniper has moved to a quarterly major release cycle. These major releases are generally where new features get added or other major changes happen. 19.4 is originally from 2019Q4 and 20.1 is from 2020Q1, it's still only one major release step just the same as 20.1 to 20.2.
"R" followed by a number is the revision of a major release. New features and changes in behaviour can still happen between subsequent revisions of a major release but it should be more confined to fixing or improving an existing feature rather than radical changes to the underlying code base.
"S" or "Junos SR" or "Service" releases contain only fixes for minor or major Problem Reports (PRs) for features contained in the major release revision. Generally it's pretty safe to assume that a higher Service release for a given Standard release above that you are already running is a safe upgrade path. Service releases should have an accompanying set of release notes which is usually a big list of PRs that you might want to look through, or you may have encountered a PR in your network and you want to upgrade to resolve it.
"X" releases are a special case separate to the above. Originally this was really just fast tracking security features for SRX platforms. However it seemed they also started doing this for other new platforms like QFX, ACX and ELS based EX (2300/3400/4300). Some of the older SRXs are staying on X releases now they are EOL but the current generation SRX/QFX/EX are now getting folded back in to the standard Junos releases.
There are often a number of options to still choose after you have selected your release on the download page:
There are no doubt more special cases but the point is just be careful of them and try and research it if you're not sure.

What software should I run?

Your first starting point should generally be the KB article Junos Software Versions - Suggested Releases to Consider and Evaluate. Pick your platform and go to the download page. Take special care of this note:
NOTE: To locate a Junos release containing an 'S' (i.e. Junos 17.3R3-S3), on the Software Download product page change the OS drop-down from Junos to Junos SR
A bigger number major release is not better than a smaller one; it's often not even "newer". 12.3R12-S17 was released a couple of weeks ago for EX2200/3200/4200 because it's still being worked on and those platforms don't have the storage/memory/capability to run newer major releases. You can see just how many revision and service releases they've been through so it's a guide to how mature the software is (just don't expect new features).
You might ignore the JTAC recommended and do your own thing in many cases:

Should I upgrade?

Maybe. Is something not working right? Is there a new feature you really need? Is there a security vulnerability you need to patch?
You should probably keep an eye on the recommended release but you don't need to panic about immediately implementing it in your network if it's all working fine (security vulnerabilities aside if you cannot mitigate them with a workaround).
Bad recommendations happen, you have to test it in your use case. A few months ago there was a JTAC recommended on the QFX5100-48T that completely broke 10G copper auto negotiation. And they had a recommended for SRX1500 where all the front panel LEDs stopped working. That KB article says "Suggested", "Consider" and "Evaluate". You have to balance the risk.
There is the Feature Explorer where you can check what is supported where if you have a specific feature you want or need. There is the Product Documentation where you can find release notes for software (or it's linked from the download page). And there is the Problem Report Search tool where you can lookup PRs (a login is required and a PR may still be internal only and not visible).
Some people take the view that you should never upgrade if it works; even if you have a long list of issues and their accompanying workarounds. I always feel that's not a great approach. There are some strange old bugs out there like renaming a VLAN on EX breaks things or inserting/removing a PSU on a MX240/480/960 during a certain rolling windows since it's boot up will cause it to stop being able to talk I2C to all the installed components. Your network may work, but you may be building up a lot of legacy minor issues that can easily get out of hand. Beware of creating those hacky scripts to sit looking for a trigger and logging in to restart a process or reboot a device. Actively raise and track your PRs and try and get them out of your network. You may hit new ones if you upgrade but hopefully the general trend for the same design and feature set is improvement.

Can I upgrade directly from X to Y?

Maybe. Conversely to some opinions of "limit it to X release jumps" my answer is generally yes but...
"Downgrading" is a situation where you have to be even more careful. Configurations may be invalid after downgrade, the hashing mechanism for the root password may have changed and many other pitfalls if that's a major release step.
In general though it is usually fine to make large jumps in release if the release you are jumping to is recommended for your platform. All those X release jumps from 12.3X or 15.1X back in to 18.218.318.4R are fine as that's just Juniper folding all those rapid release features back in to mainline software. Don't go trying to run 18.4R3-S4 on a SRX1xx/2xx (or other wild jumps for older platforms) though because they won't have the memory for it and there probably isn't actually any changes relevant for it!

2020.10.24 17:56 Select_Rutabaga_9157 Steampunk Fantasy Romance Rp for male roleplayer

Hello, I'm very new to the Reddit platform. To give a small brief introduction of myself, I'm female, 19 years old, and live in Florida. I've not known to roleplay since I've roleplayed 3 years under Kik and discord. I'm a very detailed roleplayer and I can be writing up to 8-9 lines or more. I'm looking for a male roleplay partner who would be interested in trying this roleplay with me. I recently got into steampunk fantasy but I'm no expert in it so sorry if it doesn't seem to steampunk. I like to draw and making female Ocs, although I'm not the best artist, I do practice in my spare time.
I'm am not a very strict roleplay partner but I do have rules that seem fair :
  1. Please don't leave or block me if I'm not active. I am a very busy person and I don't ever go ghost on purpose. If I go ghost I would be very busy and won't have time to respond, once I'm free I would respond immediately. If you're not a patient person then I may not be the best RP partner for you.
  2. The only platform I use is discord, I no longer use Kik and I don't use any other platform. If you don't have discord then I recommend setting up an account before you contact me.
  3. Please be patient with me, If you message me on Reddit it may take me a while to find it since this is my first time here.
  4. Please have a Male Oc, I do a roleplay with only MxF, I don't do FxF or MxM. This is because I'm used to this type of roleplay. Please respect my request and not trying to contact me asking to do an FxF or MxM because I will kindly say no.
  1. Leader- Obvious by its name he/she carries the entire gang, and no member is allowed to plan or proceed doing attacks another gang without his/her permission. If one betrays the gang, the leader can decide to kill him/her or kick them out. This person would be able to fight as well as attackers.
  2. Second-in-command**- This person takes over for the leader if he/she either dead or can do his/her job. This job is usually for the son/daughters of the leader, but in case the leader has no children, this spot is given to the one the leader knows and trust the most. This person would be able to fight as well as attackers.**
  3. Informer- This is the person who gathers info for the leader. This spot is also someone whose leader knows and trusts the most. This person gathers info on someone or another gang for the leader. This person would also at times pretending to be a spy for the gang to gather info for them or be a spy themselves gathering info for another gang. They would also be telling the leader of the traitor or the spy if him/her are discovered.
  4. Tactic planners**-This person will be the one planning and keeping track of how much territories the gang holds. This person tells the leader of the plan to attack another gang and steal their territory, they also plan how to guard the current territories the gang has.**
  5. Attackers- This person will be the one who is fighting other gangs with weapons they hold made and upgraded by the Tinkers. They trained with their fellow Attackers by fighting each other. The leader decides and knows who are the strongest attacks and who’s not. This person a very strong and fast fighter than the rest of the jobs.
  6. Tinker- This person is the one that, makes, fixes, or upgrades the weapons the attacker uses with the materials the leader provides. This person is highly skilled and knowledgeable of inventing from nothing. The Tinker him/herself can hold a weapon if they want, but they wouldn’t be fighting either gang’s as an attacker would. They would also make robotic body parts if the doctor request one.
  7. Doctors- This person will patch up and heal any members harmed either by accident or by a gang ambush and attacks. This person will try to use bandages or medicine to heal injuries or wounds. They may also have to remove a body part and replace it with metal and gears if it’s needed.
In this roleplay, there are many gangs, but they are only 3 gangs known to be the deadliest and dangerous. The Black skull, Rowley Flame, and the red hounds. Out of all gangs, altogether the 3 owns more gangs than any other. Unfortunately, all 3 are allies and all have the same goals of owning any territories they can take. That’s all other gangs are threatened by it and do all they can to either defend their own or they try to take part of territories of the 3 to take them down. Some gangs are allied with others but in all, not every gang will shake hands with another.

Scarlett’s father (Cyrus) was a tinker for the Silver Bones gang. As her mother(Deryn) was just an elf from the territory that the gang stole from another gang. Her mother back then hated all gangs with a passion and Silver bones were no exceptions to her. Because she was an elf with an ability, she would always cause trouble for attackers or even just causing trouble she knew would upset the leader. Till one day she was caught by a group of attackers surrounding her at once, she was brought to the leader for him to decide what to do with her. At first, the leader was going to kill her himself, until a certain tinker made him stop, despite he was a human, he was amazed by the elf and wanted his leader to spare her. He proposes to him, he could get her to work for him after 5 months, if he couldn’t he won’t stop him from killing her. The leader thought of the proposition and he agreed to it. To a surprising outcome, Scarlett’s mother and the man worked well together to the point Scarlett grew less hating the entire silver bones gang and became an attacker, by the time she became an attacker the members warmed up to her and forgive her for all trouble she caused. As this happened Scarlett’s mother and the man grew close where they became lovers. By a few months after she became an attacker, she married the human man and had a child of their own. By the 16th of May, that was when Scarlett was born being half-elf and human with pointed ears, unfortunately, her mother died giving birth to her and the only one she had left was her human father. Her father was saddened by losing the elf he loved, but he promised to keep their daughter safe. As Scarlett grew up, her father wasn’t the only one who was raising her, the other members treated her like family despite their memo of killing and taking another territory. Even the leader treated her well along with a son the same age as her. Both, the leader and Scarlett became friends immediately, the two looked out for each other a lot. Despite the gang violence she knew, she wasn’t scared, Scarlett stayed close to her father most of the time, at the age of 3, she got interested in the tinkering job her father did. She would always want to help him when he fixes a weapon or plays with metal scraps her father gives her and put them together in unique ways. When her father noticed the interest she had at a young age, he was proud to the point he promises himself to one day teach her how to be a tinker. By the time scarlet was 5, that was when her father was teaching her, he started to give her books about gears, how to make energy out of steam, and using wires. He even gave her small things that were broken and he helped by showing her how to fix it before she did on her own. As she was still 5, her ability showed as well, one day as she was trying to fix a small geared gun her father gave her to fix, she got a little frustrated to the point her gave in a tight grip out of rage, then out of nowhere she somehow produced energy light in the color of the green that went inside the fuse which powered the weapon. She was shocked at first since she didn’t mean to do that. When she showed her father and try explaining the way a 5-year-old would explain something. Her father knew exactly what happens despite the small information he was given, he explained to the leader, and he just told her father not to say a word of this to anyone else till she knew how to control. So not only, Scarlett’s father was training her to be a tinker, but he also had to figure out a way to keep her abilities under control. By the time Scarlett was 10, she became a very smart tinker passing her father’s training despite her small age, she also learned to manage control of her abilities thanks to her father giving encouragement. A year after that, Scarlett finds a stray black cat as she walked around town on her own, its two back legs seemed broken badly. Scarlet sympathizing with the defenseless animal, she takes it back with her to the workshop where all tinkers of the gang worked, where that’s where all. When she brought it, her father took a look, her father gives the cat to one of the doctors while he worked on making back legs for her out of scraps of metal. Scarlett said with the cat the whole time watching her. After a few days, her father finished the back legs and gives it to the doctors to put on the cat. Once the cat had back legs to walk, she was able to walk. By that time, Scarlett kept her and named her Lucrezia. Scarlet kept Lucrezia close as a pet for more years. Once Luceria was 15, her father gave her her own weapon for her birthday. It was Small two brass guns powered by her abilities, it also had two blades in the fronts of it. At first, I wasn’t powered till her father explained how it worked and she mused her abilities. By that age, the leader son had a weapon of his own too which was a bass gunslinger longer than Scarlett’s. Both of them practice using their weapons but only the son was taught hand-to-hand combat with the attacker too since he was going to be the next leader after his father. Unfortunately, Scarlet’s father died when she 16, by a spy who killed him before he was caught and killed by the leader himself. Scarlet was devastated when she lost her father, she later found out the spy was from the black skull gang. She grew frustrated now hating them along with their allies. By that day, she took her father’s place as one of the best tinkers in the gang, she never stops talking to the leader son, since they grew to be best friends and she still took good care of the cat. By the time she was 19, she was no different but she was given a nickname by her members “Little tink”.

ARTICLE 1. — The High Contracting Parties undertake to respect and to ensure respect for the present Convention in all circumstances.
ART. 2. — In addition to the provisions which shall be implemented in peacetime, the present Convention shall apply to all cases of declared war or of any other armed conflict which may arise between two or more of the High Contracting Parties, even if the state of war is not recognized by one of them. The Convention shall also apply to all cases of partial or total occupation of the territory of a High Contracting Party, even if the said occupation meets with no armed resistance. Although one of the Powers in conflict may not be a party to the present Convention, the Powers who are parties thereto shall remain bound by it in their mutual relations. They shall furthermore be bound by the Convention in relation to the said Power, if the latter accepts and applies the provisions thereof.
ART. 3. — In the case of armed conflict not of an international character occurring in the territory of one of the High Contracting Parties, each Party to the conflict shall be bound to apply, as a minimum, the following provisions: 1) Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. To this end, the following acts are and shall remain prohib- ited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons: a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture; b) taking of hostages; c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment; d) the passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples. 2) The wounded and sick shall be collected and cared for. An impartial humanitarian body, such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, may offer its services to the Parties to the conflict. The Parties to the conflict should further endeavour to bring into force, by means of special agreements, all or part of the other provisions of the present Convention. The application of the preceding provisions shall not affect the legal status of the Parties to the conflict.
ART. 4. — A. Prisoners of war, in the sense of the present Convention, are persons belonging to one of the following categories, who have fallen into the power of the enemy: 1) Members of the armed forces of a Party to the conflict as well as members of militias or volunteer corps forming part of such armed forces. 2) Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfil the following conditions: a) that of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates; b) that of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance; c) that of carrying arms openly; d) that of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war. 3) Members of regular armed forces who profess allegiance to a government or an authority not recognized by the Detaining Power. 4) Persons who accompany the armed forces without actually being members thereof, such as civilian members of military aircraft crews, war correspondents, supply contractors, members of labour units or of services responsible for the welfare of the armed forces, provided that they have received authorization from the armed forces which they accompany, who shall provide them for that purpose with an identity card similar to the annexed model. 5) Members of crews, including masters, pilots and apprentices of the merchant marine and the crews of civil aircraft of the Parties to the conflict, who do not benefit by more favourable treatment under any other provisions of international law. 6) Inhabitants of a non-occupied territory who, on the approach of the enemy, spontaneously take up arms to resist the invading forces, without having had time to form themselves into regular armed units, provided they carry arms openly and respect the laws and customs of war. B. The following shall likewise be treated as prisoners of war under the present Convention: 1) Persons belonging, or having belonged, to the armed forces of the occupied country, if the occupying Power considers it necessary by reason of such allegiance to intern them, even though it has originally liberated them while hostilities were going on outside the territory it occupies, in particular where such persons have made an unsuccessful attempt to rejoin the armed forces to which they belong and which are engaged in combat, or where they fail to comply with a summons made to them with a view to internment. 2) The persons belonging to one of the categories enumerated in the present Article, who have been received by neutral or non- belligerent Powers on their territory and whom these Powers are required to intern under international law, without prejudice to any more favourable treatment which these Powers may choose to give and with the exception of Articles 8, 10, 15, 30, fifth paragraph, 58-67, 92, 126 and, where diplomatic relations exist between the Parties to the conflict and the neutral or non-belligerent Power concerned, those Articles concerning the Protecting Power. Where such diplomatic relations exist, the Parties to a conflict on whom these persons depend shall be allowed to perform towards them the functions of a Protecting Power as provided in the present Convention, without prejudice to the functions which these Parties normally exercise in conformity with diplomatic and consular usage and treaties. C. This Article shall in no way affect the status of medical personnel and chaplains as provided for in Article 33 of the present Convention.
ART. 5. — The present Convention shall apply to the persons referred to in Article 4 from the time they fall into the power of the enemy and until their final release and repatriation. Should any doubt arise as to whether persons having committed a belligerent act and having fallen into the hands of the enemy belong to any of the categories enumerated in Article 4, such persons shall enjoy the protection of the present Convention until such time as their status has been determined by a competent tribunal.
ART. 6. — In addition to the agreements expressly provided for in Articles 10, 23, 28, 33, 60, 65, 66, 67, 72, 73, 75, 109, 110, 118, 119, 122 and 132, the High Contracting Parties may conclude other special agreements for all matters concerning which they may deem it suitable to make separate provision. No special agreement shall adversely affect the situation of prisoners of war, as defined by the present Convention, nor restrict the rights which it confers upon them. Prisoners of war shall continue to have the benefit of such agreements as long as the Convention is applicable to them, except where express provisions to the contrary are contained in the aforesaid or in subsequent agreements, or where more favourable measures have been taken with regard to them by one or other of the Parties to the conflict.
ART. 7. — Prisoners of war may in no circumstances renounce in part or in entirety the rights secured to them by the present Convention, and by the special agreements referred.
ART. 8. — The present Convention shall be applied with the co- operation and under the scrutiny of the Protecting Powers whose duty it is to safeguard the interests of the Parties to the conflict. For this purpose, the Protecting Powers may appoint, apart from their diplomatic or consular staff, delegates from amongst their own nationals or the nationals of other neutral Powers. The said delegates shall be subject to the approval of the Power with which they are to carry out their duties. The Parties to the conflict shall facilitate to the greatest extent possible the task of the representatives or delegates of the Protecting Powers. The representatives or delegates of the Protecting Powers shall not in any case exceed their mission under the present Convention. They shall, in particular, take account of the imperative necessities of security of the State wherein they carry out their duties.
ART. 9. — The provisions of the present Convention constitute no obstacle to the humanitarian activities which the International Committee of the Red Cross or any other impartial humanitarian organization may, subject to the consent of the Parties to the conflict concerned, undertake for the protection of prisoners of war and for their relief.
ART. 10. — The High Contracting Parties may at any time agree to entrust to an organization which offers all guarantees of impartiality and efficacy the duties incumbent on the Protecting Powers by virtue of the present Convention. When prisoners of war do not benefit or cease to benefit, no matter for what reason, by the activities of a Protecting Power or of an organization provided for in the first paragraph above, the Detaining Power shall request a neutral State, or such an organization, to undertake the functions performed under the present Convention by a Protecting Power designated by the Parties to a conflict. If protection cannot be arranged accordingly, the Detaining Power shall request or shall accept, subject to the provisions of this Article, the offer of the services of a humanitarian organization, such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, to assume the humanitarian functions performed by Protecting Powers under the present Convention. Any neutral Power or any organizatione invited by the Power concerned or offering itself for these purposes, shall be required to act with a sense of responsibility towards the Party to the conflict on which persons protected by the present Convention depend, and shall be required to furnish sufficient assurances that it is in a position to undertake the appropriate functions and to discharge them impartially. No derogation from the preceding provisions shall be made by special agreements between Powers one of which is restricted, even temporarily, in its freedom to negotiate with the other Power or its allies by reason of military events, more particularly where the whole, or a substantial part, of the territory of the said Power is occupied. Whenever in the present Convention mention is made of a Protecting Power, such mention applies to substitute organizations in the sense of the present Article.
ART. 11. — In cases where they deem it advisable in the interest of protected persons, particularly in cases of disagreement between the Parties to the conflict as to the application or interpretation of the provisions of the present Convention, the Protecting Powers shall lend their good offices with a view to settling the disagreement. For this purpose, each of the Protecting Powers may, either at the invitation of one Party or on its own initiative, propose to the Parties to the conflict a meeting of their representatives, and in particular of the authorities responsible for prisoners of war, possibly on neutral territory suitably chosen. The Parties to the conflict shall be bound to give effect to the proposals made to them for this purpose. The Protecting Powers may, if necessary, propose for approval by the Parties to the conflict a person belonging to a neutral Power, or delegated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, who shall be invited to take part in such a meeting.
ART. 12. — Prisoners of war are in the hands of the enemy Power, but not of the individuals or military units who have captured them. Irrespective of the individual responsibilities that may exist, the Detaining Power is responsible for the treatment given them. Prisoners of war may only be transferred by the Detaining Power to a Power which is a party to the Convention and after the Detaining Power has satisfied itself of the willingness and ability of such transferee Power to apply the Convention. When prisoners of war are transferred under such circumstances, responsibility for the application of the Convention rests on the Power accepting them while they are in its custody. Nevertheless if that Power fails to carry out the provisions of the Convention in any important respect, the Power by whom the prisoners of war were transferred shall, upon being notified by the Protecting Power, take effective measures to correct the situation or shall request the return of the prisoners of war. Such requests must be complied with.
ART. 13. — Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated. Any unlawful act or omission by the Detaining Power causing death or seriously endangering the health of a prisoner of war in its custody is prohibited, and will be regarded as a serious breach of the present Convention. In particular, no prisoner of war may be subjected to physical mutilation or to medical or scientific experiments of any kind which are not justified by the medical, dental or hospital treatment of the prisoner concerned and carried out in his interest. Likewise, prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity. Measures of reprisal against prisoners of war are prohibited.
ART. 14. — Prisoners of war are entitled in all circumstances to respect for their persons and their honour. Women shall be treated with all the regard due to their sex and shall in all cases benefit by treatment as favourable as that granted to men. Prisoners of war shall retain the full civil capacity which they enjoyed at the time of their capture. The Detaining Power may not restrict the exercise, either within or without its own territory, of the rights such capacity confers except in so far as the captivity requires.
ART. 15. — The Power detaining prisoners of war shall be bound to provide free of charge for their maintenance and for the medical attention required by their state of health.
ART. 16. — Taking into consideration the provisions of the present Convention relating to rank and sex, and subject to any privileged treatment which may be accorded to them by reason of their state of health, age or professional qualifications, all prisoners of war shall be treated alike by the Detaining Power, without any adverse distinction based on race, nationality, religious belief or political opinions, or any other distinction founded on similar criteria.
ART. 17. — Every prisoner of war, when questioned on the subject, is bound to give only his surname, first names and rank, date of birth, and army, regimental, personal or serial number, or failing this, equivalent information. If he wilfully infringes this rule, he may render himself liable to a restriction of the privileges accorded to his rank or status. Each Party to a conflict is required to furnish the persons under its jurisdiction who are liable to become prisoners of war, with an identity card showing the owner’s surname, first names, rank, army, regimental, personal or serial number or equivalent information, and date of birth. The identity card may, furthermore, bear the signature or the finger-prints, or both, of the owner, and may bear, as well, any other information the Party to the conflict may wish to add concerning persons belonging to its armed forces. As far as possible the card shall measure 6.5 x 10 cm and shall be issued in duplicate. The identity card shall be shown by the prisoner of war upon demand, but may in no case be taken away from him. No physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on prisoners of war to secure from them information of any kind whatever. Prisoners of war who refuse to answer may not be threatened, insulted, or exposed to any unpleasant or disadvantageous treatment of any kind. Prisoners of war who, owing to their physical or mental condition, are unable to state their identity, shall be handed over to the medical service. The identity of such prisoners shall be established by all possible means, subject to the provisions of the preceding paragraph. The questioning of prisoners of war shall be carried out in a language which they understand.
ART. 18. — All effects and articles of personal use, except arms, horses, military equipment and military documents, shall remain in the possession of prisoners of war, likewise their metal helmets and gas masks and like articles issued for personal protection. Effects and articles used for their clothing or feeding shall likewise remain in their possession, even if such effects and articles belong to their regulation military equipment. At no time should prisoners of war be without identity documents. The Detaining Power shall supply such documents to prisoners of war who possess none. Badges of rank and nationality, decorations and articles having above all a personal or sentimental value may not be taken from prisoners of war. Sums of money carried by prisoners of war may not be taken away from them except by order of an officer, and after the amount and particulars of the owner have been recorded in a special register and an itemized receipt has been given, legibly inscribed with the name, rank and unit of the person issuing the said receipt. Sums in the currency of the Detaining Power, or which are changed into such currency at the prisoner’s request, shall be placed to the credit of the prisoner’s account as provided in Article 64. The Detaining Power may withdraw articles of value from prisoners of war only for reasons of security; when such articles are withdrawn, the procedure laid down for sums of money impounded shall apply. Such objects, likewise the sums taken away in any currency other than that of the Detaining Power and the conversion of which has not been asked for by the owners, shall be kept in the custody of the Detaining Power and shall be returned in their initial shape to prisoners of war at the end of their captivity.
ART. 19. — Prisoners of war shall be evacuated, as soon as possible after their capture, to camps situated in an area far enough from the combat zone for them to be out of danger. Only those prisoners of war who, owing to wounds or sickness, would run greater risks by being evacuated than by remaining where they are, may be temporarily kept back in a danger zone. Prisoners of war shall not be unnecessarily exposed to danger while awaiting evacuation from a fighting zone.
ART. 20. — The evacuation of prisoners of war shall always be effected humanely and in conditions similar to those for the forces of the Detaining Power in their changes of station. The Detaining Power shall supply prisoners of war who are being evacuated with sufficient food and potable water, and with the necessary clothing and medical attention. The Detaining Power shall take all suitable precautions to ensure their safety during evacuation, and shall establish as soon as possible a list of the prisoners of war who are evacuated. If prisoners of war must, during evacuation, pass through transit camps, their stay in such camps shall be as brief as possible.
ART. 21. — The Detaining Power may subject prisoners of war to internment. It may impose on them the obligation of not leaving, beyond certain limits, the camp where they are interned, or if the said camp is fenced in, of not going outside its perimeter. Subject to the provisions of the present Convention relative to penal and disciplinary sanctions, prisoners of war may not be held in close confinement except where necessary to safeguard their health and then only during the continuation of the circumstances which make such confinement necessary. Prisoners of war may be partially or wholly released on parole or promise, in so far as is allowed by the laws of the Power on which they depend. Such measures shall be taken particularly in cases where this may contribute to the improvement of their state of health. No prisoner of war shall be compelled to accept liberty on parole or promise. Upon the outbreak of hostilities, each Party to the conflict shall notify the adverse Party of the laws and regulations allowing or forbidding its own nationals to accept liberty on parole or promise. Prisoners of war who are paroled or who have given their promise in conformity with the laws and regulations so notified, are bound on their personal honour scrupulously to fulfil, both towards the Power on which they depend and towards the Power which has captured them, the engagements of their paroles or promises. In such cases, the Power on which they depend is bound neither to require nor to accept from them any service incompatible with the parole or promise given.
ART. 22. — Prisoners of war may be interned only in premises located on land and affording every guarantee of hygiene and healthfulness. Except in particular cases which are justified by the interest of the prisoners themselves, they shall not be interned in penitentiaries. Prisoners of war interned in unhealthy areas, or where the climate is injurious for them, shall be removed as soon as possible to a more favourable climate. The Detaining Power shall assemble prisoners of war in camps or camp compounds according to their nationality, language and customs, provided that such prisoners shall not be separated from prisoners of war belonging to the armed forces with which they were serving at the time of their capture, except with their consent.
ART. 23. — No prisoner of war may at any time be sent to, or detained in areas where he may be exposed to the fire of the combat zone, nor may his presence be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations. Prisoners of war shall have shelters against air bombardment and other hazards of war, to the same extent as the local civilian population. With the exception of those engaged in the protection of their quarters against the aforesaid hazards, they may enter such shelters as soon as possible after the giving of the alarm. Any other protective measure taken in favour of the population shall also apply to them. Detaining Powers shall give the Powers concerned, through the intermediary of the Protecting Powers, all useful information regarding the geographical location of prisoner of war camps. Whenever military considerations permit, prisoner of war camps shall be indicated in the day-time by the letters PW or PG, placed so as to be clearly visible from the air. The Powers concerned may, however, agree upon any other system of marking. Only prisoner of war camps shall be marked as such.
ART. 24. — Transit or screening camps of a permanent kind shall be fitted out under conditions similar to those described in the present Section, and the prisoners therein shall have the same treatment as in other camps.
ART. 25. — Prisoners of war shall be quartered under conditions as favourable as those for the forces of the Detaining Power who are billeted in the same area. The said conditions shall make allowance for the habits and customs of the prisoners and shall in no case be prejudicial to their health. The foregoing provisions shall apply in particular to the dormitories of prisoners of war as regards both total surface and minimum cubic space, and the general installations, bedding and blankets. The premises provided for the use of prisoners of war individually or collectively, shall be entirely protected from dampness and adequately heated and lighted, in particular between dusk and lights out. All precautions must be taken against the danger of fire. In any camps in which women prisoners of war, as well as men, are accommodated, separate dormitories shall be provided for them.
ART. 26. — The basic daily food rations shall be sufficient in quantity, quality and variety to keep prisoners of war in good health and to prevent loss of weight or the development of nutritional deficiencies. Account shall also be taken of the habitual diet of the prisoners. The Detaining Power shall supply prisoners of war who work with such additional rations as are necessary for the labour on which they are employed. Sufficient drinking water shall be supplied to prisoners of war. The use of tobacco shall be permitted. Prisoners of war shall, as far as possible, be associated with the preparation of their meals; they may be employed for that purpose in the kitchens. Furthermore, they shall be given the means of preparing, themselves, the additional food in their possession. Adequate premises shall be provided for messing. Collective disciplinary measures affecting food are prohibited.
ART. 27. — Clothing, underwear and footwear shall be supplied to prisoners of war in sufficient quantities by the Detaining Power, which shall make allowance for the climate of the region where the prisoners are detained. Uniforms of enemy armed forces captured by the Detaining Power should, if suitable for the climate, be made available to clothe prisoners of war. The regular replacement and repair of the above articles shall be assured by the Detaining Power. In addition, prisoners of war who work shall receive appropriate clothing, wherever the nature of the work demands.
ART. 28. — Canteens shall be installed in all camps, where prisoners of war may procure foodstuffs, soap and tobacco and ordinary articles in daily use. The tariff shall never be in excess of local market prices. The profits made by camp canteens shall be used for the benefit of the prisoners; a special fund shall be created for this purpose. The prisoners’ representative shall have the right to collaborate in the management of the canteen and of this fund. When a camp is closed down, the credit balance of the special fund shall be handed to an international welfare organization, to be employed for the benefit of prisoners of war of the same nationality as those who have contributed to the fund. In case of a general repatriation, such profits shall be kept by the Detaining Power, subject to any agreement to the contrary between the Powers concerned. CHAPTER III Hygiene and Medical Attention
ART. 29. — The Detaining Power shall be bound to take all sanitary measures necessary to ensure the cleanliness and healthfulness of camps, and to prevent epidemics. Prisoners of war shall have for their use, day and night, conveniences which conform to the rules of hygiene and are maintained in a constant state of cleanliness. In any camps in which women prisoners of war are accommodated, separate conveniences shall be provided for them. Also, apart from the baths and showers with which the camps shall be furnished, prisoners of war shall be provided with sufficient water and soap for their personal toilet and for washing their personal laundry; the necessary installations, facilities and time shall be granted them for that purpose.
ART. 30. — Every camp shall have an adequate infirmary where prisoners of war may have the attention they require, as well as appropriate diet. Isolation wards shall, if necessary, be set aside for cases of contagious or mental disease. Prisoners of war suffering from serious disease, or whose condition necessitates special treatment, a surgical operation or hospital care, must be admitted to any military or civilian medical unit where such treatment can be given, even if their repatriation is contemplated in the near future. Special facilities shall be afforded for the care to be given to the disabled, in particular to the blind, and for their rehabilitation, pending repatriation. Prisoners of war shall have the attention, preferably, of medical personnel of the Power on which they depend and, if possible, of their nationality. 2020.10.24 17:50 throwaway_nopey AITA for saying I'm not gay enough to give my sister relationship advice?

So my sister, "Kayla" attracts all the wrong kind of people. She's the type who can't say no, is a dormant and can be easily manipulated. When someone asks her out unless she's dating someone else she'll always accept and I mean ALWAYS. It doesn't matter if Kayla knows the person or not, it's just as long as they don't seem like a stereotypical "crackhead" she's good.
Kayla only has one condition for going out with someone since she's gay, they must be a female. She's been more than a few non-pleasant relationships an she always asks me for advice on what to do. I'm more than happy to give her advice and advise her on what to do next but the thing is she always ignores me.
I get that it's probably because she's being manipulate into not following through with my advice but she always say "I'm sorry I didn't follow your advice. It's just your advice doesn't apply in my relationship, you're not gay enough to give advice in a homosexual relationship". Now I get that my sister is just making excuses to ignore the red flags so I usually ask my gay friend "Emily" to give her some advice, Kayla listens to her since she ran out of excuses to avoid the red flags.
I'm happy that Kayla gets the help she needs but it makes me feel inferior when she ignores me, her sister and listens to Emily. So fast forward to hearing this for five years, once to twice a month and I'm done felling hurt over this. Every time Kayla asks me for advice in her relationship I direct her to "Emily", no small tips or anything, just an "Sorry can't give you advice right now but I think Emily is free". So of course Kayla starts thinks something up after a few months and constantly asks why I'm ignoring her(3-5 texts a day).
I just tell her quarantine changed my schedule and I'm much more busy now. Apparently Kayla had been complaining to my mom because when I went over, my mom kept asking me why I wasnt helping my sister anymore. The entire visit my mom was asking me why I was being like that and ignoring my sister when she really needed me. So I get let it out on my mom that she never took my advice anyway because "I wasn't gay enough" so I don't feel like even bothering anymore. I admit I could have worded it better and had been more calm but I just felt really angry.
Anyways later I texted my mom and articulated my feelings properly Well apparently my mom let it slip to Kayla that I didn't give her relationship advice anymore because "I'm not gay enough" and well as it goes Kayla was blowing up my phone.
She told me I was an asshole then she called me and her voice sounded like she was crying, she told me she was sorry then she said I was homophobic then she just bawled into the phone. I told her to calm down for now and we'd talk later. I tried calling her but she sent me a message saying she doesn't want to speak to me anymore and the blocked me on everything. Half my family says I'm TA and the other says I'm not TA, so I thought I'd get a third opinion. AITA?
